KCRW

Ben Howard - Depth Over Distance

Glen Hansard - Bird of Sorrow

Delta Rae - Bottom of the River

inadvertent similarity of titles.

Indie season

A handful of great songs. enjoy--

Gregory Alan Isakov - Big Black Car

The Head and the Heart - Down in the Valley

This song is something special.

Aunt Martha - Neighbor Song

The Paper Kites - Bloom

David Vertesi - Learn to Run

Indian Summer

Jónsi & Alex (Riceboy Sleeps) - Indian Summer (Original)

Jónsi & Alex (Kyson Bootleg) - Indian Summer

Jónsi & Alex is a side project of Jón Þór Birgisson (the lead vocalist of Sigur Ros) and his partner Alex Somers. It follows similar melodic ethereal structure as Sigur Ros but tends to be a little more experimental. Wonderful stuff to study to.

Lana and Sigur

Lana Del Ray - Summertime Sadness

In big news for me -- Sigur Ros just released tentative US tour dates!! Which means after a long absence from the tour scene. they will be back, and there is a chance to see them (maybe for the last time). Can't express how excited i am for this!!

supposedly one of the most charismatic, impressive live bands ever.

Some lesser known tracks by well known acts

Marcus Mumford - You Ain't No Sailor

(Before Mumford and Sons)

JD Vernon - When It Rains Down Here

(Solo Justin Vernon long before Bon Iver - circa 2001)

DeYarmond Edison - The Lake

(Another with Justin Vernon prior to Bon Iver. Great stuff!!!)

Lullabys

Coldplay - Paradise (lanborg remix)

Bombay Bicycle Club - Video Games (Lana Del Ray Cover)

pretty slow, love the original too!

Mazzy Star - Common Burn

Indie

a change of pace--

Rubik - Laws of Gravity

Karoliina Salomäki and Karri Laihonen deserve the credit for this Finnish Indie Pop find.

Blind Pilot - 3 Rounds and a Sound

These guys are totally blowing up these days! It's great to see, i got the chance to meet them this summer when i was living in Seaside, OR and they seemed like an absurdly rad group of people. Humility is a virtue. Support them!

Ben Howard - Further Away

Sounds awesome on the album. Equally impressive "live". Seeing him live...theres an idea. Hope he makes it to the states sometime.

Gotye - Eyes Wide Open

James Blake and Bon Iver - Fall Creek Boys Choir
Here's a collaboration that seems like a match made in heaven (album coming in october)-

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - Fire Water (River of Love)

Gregory Alan Isakov - If I Go I'm Goin

Dawes - The Western Skyline

Sean Carey

From the Jagjaguwar Label and the drummer of Bon Iver is S. Carey. Equally intriguing and beautiful-

S. Carey - In the Dirt

S. Carey - Broken
